About TRC-HP

Origins

Texas Rowing Center - High Performance was created in 2021 to support amateur rowers in their quest towards the World Championships and Olympic Games.

As an organization, we were founded in August 2021 and are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. We are located on Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin, Texas. TRC HP is a part of Texas Rowing Center, but trains separately and is funded separately from the recreational, juniors, and masters programs that currently make up TRC.

Mission

TRC High Performance is a nationally recognized training center that prepares United States rowers for success at the World Championships and Olympic Games by creating an environment with excellent coaching, training opportunities, equipment, and financial support for our athletes.

As a not-for-profit organization, we use donations to fund the training and competitions of our athletes. World-class rowing takes an unparalleled level of commitment to training, which does not allow for a traditional 9-5 work schedule. TRC HP covers all costs of training and racing for the athletes.

Values

TRC HP expects dedication, humility, and respect from all athletes, coaches, and staff. We believe that an environment that is supportive of every party will produce the best people and the best results.

While high-performance sport is necessarily exclusive, TRC HP is committed to supporting athletes regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or socio-economic background.

TRC HP is also committed to being an active local community member and growing the sport of rowing through adjacent projects.
